Stretch Parent Community

Stretch the Imagination is a wonderful and supportive community of like-minded families. We strive for an approachable and inclusive group of families that believe in the importance of respect, communication, and collaboration during these early years in a child’s life. We look for families who value the magic and wonder of these early years and who encourage their children to explore and experience learning in a hands-on way. We also attract families who believe in the importance of connecting to the natural world. We welcome parents to join us in the Natural Classroom, which takes place in the Presidio and Golden Gate Park, to learn alongside their child throughout the year.

We have an active Parent Association (PA) that supports the educators, administrators, and families at Stretch. All community members are part of the PA and individual parents volunteer to take on leadership roles within our PA. This allows for many fun and welcoming events throughout the year that bring our community together to celebrate in different ways.

Each class also has two room parents. These volunteers collaborate and bring their individual class communities together outside of Stretch. They act as liaisons with the school and also help to foster communication and encourage participation within our community.
